I’m saddened to announce that Bradley Sanders, the co-founder of Tchantinler Recordings, lost his battle with cancer and passed away last week, on the 13th September 2011.

Brad was one of my best friends, and looked after the artwork and design of all the releases on this label, starting in the summer of 2006 when I recorded the Voice of the Seven Woods ‘Tchantinler’ CD-R. Brad was always eager to work on the sleeves, no matter what he was up against these past few years. The last record sleeve he put together, ‘The Blue Comet Mixes’, out just a few weeks ago, held that perfect balance of great beauty and precision that I’d come to expect from his work. I think with Brad’s limited handmade packaging in particular, you get the feeling of holding something really special.

As well as the sleeves, Brad was responsible for many light shows at a good many VOTSW live gigs. Plus he was a great guitar player in his own right.

Brad was a constant source of inspiration and support for me since I first started putting records out and playing live. A trusting ear I’ll miss dearly.

My thoughts are with Brad’s wife Liz, and all his friends and relatives.

~ Rick
